Day 36 (CD25)
This is both confusing and annoying. My body is acting as if it's already ovulated -- with a low, firm cervix and drying-up mucus patterns (it was creamy this morning, but some drier sticky/gummy mucus this evening), but my temps are saying "nope, you haven't ovulated yet!"
So, we'll assume that my body tried to ovulate, but then did not, due to:
"I wish I could menstruate. If I could menstruate, I wouldn't have to deal with idiotic calendars anymore--I'd just be able to just count down from my previous cycle... plus, I'd be more in tune with the moon and the tides." -Dwight Schrute, from The Office (Download the sound byte here)
"So many memories in this old gym. Pretending to have PMS so I didn't have to play volleyball... pretending to have PMS so I didn't have to play basketball... those were the days!" -Pam Beasley, from The Office (Download the sound byte here)
Lunaception Observations Thus Far
Pre-Lunaception Averages: ovulation - CD21.4 luteal phase - 12.2 days total cycle length - 33.4 days coverline - 97.7 F
Luna-cycle 1 (c35) (luteal phase only) observations: - longer luteal phase phase (14 days) - steady temps (97.7 on 8 of 11 days) - more restful sleep with less waking during night - vivid dreams nearly every night
Luna-cycle 2 (c36) observations: - fairly consistent pre-ovulatory temps, with very few major jumps - decreased waking during the night - increased daytime energy - dreams still vivid, but occurring less often - much lower pre-ovulatory temperatures and coverline than normal - delayed ovulation, eventually triggered with no eye mask and extra sunlight during daytime - 12 day luteal phase
Luna-cycle 3 (c37) observations: -interesting up/down temperature pattern in early cycle, which seemed to correspond with daily sunlight - lower coverline than usual (97.2) - earlier ovulation than usual (CD20) - long luteal phase (15 days) - unusual two day spotting before next cycle - could also be due to environment/diet changes
Luna-cycle 4 (c38) observations: - dreams still vivid, but less frequent and less intense - due to new living situations, merely taking off my mask to trigger ovulation was not enough light and did not trigger it until I finally bought and used a night light during those nights - I had an increased number of ewcm days, compared with pre-Lunaception charts - my now-normal jump up to 97.9 occurred this time at 6dpo instead of 5dpo - Taking off the eye mask for the luteal phase in an attempt to shorten it resulted in a 10 day LP
Luna-cycle 5 (c39) observations: TBD
Lunaception Averages: ovulation - CD25 (keeping in mind I have been triggering some later on purpose) luteal phase - 12.75 days (14.5 for months I was consistent with darkening the room during the LP) total cycle length - 37.75 coverline - 97.3 (down 0.4 degrees from pre-Lunaception)
